ASHLEY VAN DYKE’S BULLRUN PULLOVER

‘I’m more excited to do Bullrun than when I won the Indy 500′ – Mario Andretti

Celeste Fianna writing; Ashley Van Dyke left the Thurs-mid-day checkpoint from Westcoast Customs in Pomona, CA with the group of raging bulls. She was rollin down the I-10 while giving an interview for KGKI Radio, the Racers Report Network in Florida. Ashley was running in P1 (first place) cruising at a buck10 with her co-pilot Spencer Sharp. The Audi RS4 with Bobby Singh from Manhattan Motor Sports, Dan and I had already been pulled over, we were getting interrogated by police. The Destination X TV jeep was still struggling to keep up and the other Bullrunners cars were tagging on her behind.

The interview was going very nice and smooth, until Ashley suddenly noticed cops approaching quick on her tail in the rear mirror, their lights flashing. “Hey, I’m getting pulled over. I gotta go.” She sighs while bringing her ‘08 ZO6 Corvette to the side of the freeway. “No! You GOTTA stay on the air… ‘Everyone, Ashley Van Dyke is getting pulled over on the I-10 LIVE, this is Bullrun action Baby!’” Greg Kielma says from KGKI Radio, “Ashley, hang in there, this is priceless.” A glee of excitement in his voice. Ashley decided to keep the ear piece in regardless of any further punishment.

The Officer approached her window slowly, then demanded her to turn off the car and step out of the vehicle. Ashley obeys, and walks out the car defenseless. The cop comes on swift, “Ma’am put your hands behind your back, you have the right to remain silent. We are placing you under arrest.” Ashley’s heart sank… no more license, no more rallies. She was forced in the back of the female cop’s car for a grueling 30 minutes with no AC in 110F degree weather. Being unable to stand the immense heat any longer, desiring the fresh air and wind, Ashley kindly asked the police officer if she could stand outside, assuring the woman she would not run… “We need backup here! I have someone resisting orders.” The cop radios nearby police vehicles and there was soon a frenzy.

Team Fortress in the Audi’s RS4 and R8 had passed by, and regardless of no film and battery I was miraculously able to turn on the camera and document the whole ordeal. From find-out on the phone, to realizing which Corvette had been pulled… shortly after us Bill Wu and team in his Hummer space-ship flew by, just long enough for our excellent camera man Josh to get some good footage of the tragedy. The cop fortunately decided not to take Ashley to jail… just ticketed her for doing 110+ amounting to $650, we all thought this was truly kind.

“Everyone came by the highway as they were all behind me and got photos and video. I couldn’t believe by the time I was back in the Spring Mountain Corvette Z06 I had three text messages from around the world! Amsterdam, New York and Toronto!”

Ashley was free as a bird, but being the race-car driver she is…

Our Bullrun Corvette VO6

Written By Dallas Tanner: I thought this link was pretty sick… for those of you that want to know what the Team Destination X Car can do… no wonder our driver Ashley Van Dyke was arrested leading the way on the BullRun. Celeste Andrews and I drove it yesterday and the other day back from the finish line of the BullRun, as well out in the desert and we were warned “this car can burn rubber on turns while doing 80 miles an hour when you shift gears”. A very sick car and a pretty scary video. The ZR1 coming out is the talk of the motorsports world as it can blast away Lamborghini’s and Ferraris on the road and Ferraris (go America!) and a few lucky girls from Destination X and l be going to driving school in the coming month(s) to learn how to master this vehicle on the track

BULLRUNNERS WATCH OUT, IT’S FREAKIN ‘HOT’ OUT THERE!!!

Posted in 1 with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , on July 30, 2008 by Destination X Adventure TV

My first real Bullrun experience… I was sittin in the backseat of an incredible new Audi RS4 with two excellent drivers; Bobby Singh from Manhattan Motorsports and Dan from NYC. This car whipped us around like beaten eggs, but this was all coming from the master-mind of the driver. Team Audi ‘Fortress’ is what I had stepped into here, loved the name… we were Fortress2 and their teammates were Fortress1; in an incredibly sexy new Audi R8. We flew to the head of the pack with their fantastic driving skills and strategies. I was learning how to use an HD Camera while tryin to film steadily and not fly out the window or break the thing… an interesting challenge.

Dan was driving and Bobby was a very efficient navigator, there were about five cars back-to-back and I know we didn’t go unnoticed… this ended up working against us. Although it was nice seeing the general public in utter amazement; staring and some with their jaws hanging open, the cops were hot on our tails. Since we were first in line and the ones clearing the way for all the other Bullrunners , we were first to get ‘chosen’. ha ha. Before I knew what was going on we were pulled over, and the cop was lecturing us about how the highway wasn’t a racetrack; “Now if it were up to me I’d take all of you in!! But the law says I can’t so I guess I’ll just write you a speeding ticket.” Luckily he was quicker than most cops and we were allowed on our merry way once again.

I had no idea where the Destination X TV vehicle was, I assumed they were somewhere far behind. I also didn’t know where Ashley Van Dyke and Spencer were… but I had a feeling they may be in front. The communication was excellent between all the Bullrun cars. It was very humbling to know that even though we all competed against each other, and at times became aggressive, in the end we were one big team/family… it was us against the Cops. It really was like a war, the police had all of our pictures (headshots) knew what cars we were all driving, and they even had our names. There were helicopters and unmarked cars like a disease. I didn’t actually meet one person that didn’t get pulled over!! They would all sit at the boarder of a city or state and wait for us to drive by… But the strategies and teamwork was astounding! The cars on the Bullrun in front would radio the cars in back and tell them where all the police were posted up. This helped everyone tremendously and probably saved a few licenses.

I was filming all the action when I got quite a disturbing call… “Put the tapes and cameras away!! The cops are pulling everyone over and taking all of our shit!!! EVERYTHING! Even the CAR!!” Oh man, this was bad news. They were all lined up and stopping anyone and everyone with Bullrun decals on their car…

THURSDAY MORNING BULLRUN WAKE-UP MADNESS

Posted in 1 with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on July 29, 2008 by Destination X Adventure TV

I stumbled out of bed at a whopping 6:30 am, grouchy, hungry and sleepless. We had a 7:40 very important meeting with the Bullrunners (hahah) outside the Sofitel Hotel in Beverly hills, California. Arriving a little early, we all took advantage of the hidden coffee stand; our elixir of morning life… in which some of us injured our tongue on :-P The entourage started to arrive, cameras were rolling, the engines were revving and the Bullrunners were gettin antsy. This is when I remembered that adrenaline is 100X better than any kind of caffeine and I need not worry, wake-up was just around the corner…

The cars all took off at 8am sharp, followed by a helicopter for a birds-eye camera angle. We had already jumped in the Destination X TV jeep and drove away (I was really starting to get the hang of it by now). The cars went whizzing by us on the road and I figured they would just time-travel to our WestCoast Customs pit-stop in Pomona, CA. This is where we met up with Big Dane (he started West Coast Customs) and his posse. They treated us well, Big Dane got his team to wash the cars-in-need, and had a homely Bar-B-Q for us to enjoy in the back. He has some incredible artists that produced some very stylish graffiti on all the walls and trucks… coming from a family of artists; I was impressed.

~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~

It was another car-show, all of the Bullrunners high-tech cutting-edge evolution of automotives, and WestCoast had some really tricked out cars from all years, completely re-built and supped up. What a sight that was. Press and pictures were the subject of the pit-stop, along with as many energy drinks we could consume in an hour… this left me feeling a little nauseous, especially when I was embedded in one of the most bass-ass Audi’s I’d ever seen. This was driven by Bobby Singh founder of Manhattan Motorsports and Dan from NYC. They were a little hesitant to let me in at first… I didn’t realize this was because they had been the winning team since Calgary, I suppose they didn’t want me revealing their secrets to victory.

I jumped in the car, camera equipped. Everyone started to line up in a flash, just before we all took off Dan says, “I hope you don’t have to use the restroom for the next SIX hours, cuz we arn’t stoppin.” Ugh, my stomach dropped and I had a slight panic. Damn, I just drank all these Rockstar energy drinks that had been handed out like candy, and I was still a little hungover from Vegas… the combination was a little bubbily. But before I could blink I was slammed to the back of the seat by acceleration and horsepower, and suddenly forgot all about the sickly feeling…

Ashley Van Dyke and Vincent took off with the pack and were soon in first place, she was hauling her cute behind all the way to the finish line, this is until…

RALLY UP!! BULLRUNNERS OFF TO THE CENTER OF THE WORLD

Finally the tow truck came and picked up Richards Rawling’s car…. by this time everyone had dispersed and was heading to posh-town Beverly Hills, California. We were driving along the freeway only to get over-taken by Bill Wu, and spat at by his ’smoke it’ machine!! He has somehow figured out how to send a burst of black smoke out his rear! We kept up with him for a while, goin a buck10 in our Destination X janky jeep, swerving through all of the traffic… LA is a nice city… except the TRAFFIC. This is so horrible it makes you want to drive your car off the freeway, or into the person in front while pounding your head against the steering wheel. After showing us up, Wu called and told us that Richard Rawling got the tow-guy to book it at 80mph down the freeway, while towing his car!! Unbelievable! This is the way I hear its done in the Bullrun!! Richard got to the hotel with his head held high and proud, arriving there in good time with a $3000 bill.

There was a big 944 Magazine Party at 944’s headquarters in Bev Hills, lots of pressy paparazzi press and good people. We missed the check-point in the middle of the day, so everyone who stopped for our picnic arrived in Beverly Hills in a timely manner. The 944 party that night was pretty cool, there was a red carpet, a lot of cameras and the desired celebrities like Bill Mauer and Michelle Rodriguez from the Fast and the Furious… the club was absolutely packed, there was a line all the way down the block and most of them didn’t get in. I gave Ashley Van Dyke a great interview in front of the 944 Red Carpet. Everybody had a great time, until they ran out of Vodka and ice…thats when the shit hit the fan… hahah just kidding, we all had a great time. Especially when it came to the celebrities gawking over all of the Bullruners sexy machines.

LUNCH ANYONE? THE VALLEY OF DEATH BULLRUN FAMILY

Posted in 1 with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on July 29, 2008 by Destination X Adventure TV

Celeste Fianna writing; so we received our check-point cards (they hand you these as you’re driving away… kind of like a flag girl, but they wave and give you a card instead… there were also the sexy flag girls). Our navigational system was pretty worse than primitive compared to everyone elses, hahah, all we had was an iphone!! But this worked pretty alright. I found out this morning that nobody actually knows where they are going… ever. People will ask at the 944 Magazine party or check point, “So where are you headed to now?”, the answer always was a chuckle and a, “Hell if I know!!”

You finally find out where everyone is Rallying to when you’re on the road reading the card. The navigator better be quick! As you are driving you punch in the address, and try to find the quickest route with the least amount of cops possible. Our first check point of the beautiful 115F temp Wednesday was Spring Mountain Raceway. Seeing all the cars lined up was really astounding. There were the all the badass Bullrunner’s cars and all of the high-performance ones owned by Spring Mountain Raceway. It was kind of like an amusement park… there were rides, entertainment and food. Several people went out in the incredible Radicals, others took their cars out (there was a racing competition, wow! was that fun to watch). Eventually everyone jumped in their vehicles again, this time I understood, “We are leaving, NOW!!” any stragglers (which there were none, cuz everyone understood) were left in the dust!!

2

Our next route took us through DEATH VALLEY… and it didn’t get this name easily. This place is one of the hottest locations on the planet, beautiful but very deadly. This proved an issue for quite a few cars out there. We had more breakdowns than tickets during this leg, and this is hard to accomplish on the Bullrun!! The roads were windy and tough, but luckily there weren’t many cops… I know you Bullrunners had fun through this one!! (those of you without car issues). Ashley Van Dyke was nowhere to be seen… she was ready and rearing to win!! We were tagging behind in our Destination X media vehicle… trying to keep up but not to tip the crappy thing over; when we saw an array of Bullrun cars along the side of the road. “Pull over! They may need help…

\\\

I approached the collection of people and cars, this is where we ran into Josh Carranza from our media team, filming what was going on. He was embedded with Bill Wu, in his Hummer walk-in Computer along with his brother and cutie girlfriend. There was Chris Jones founder of Street Fire and his co-pilot in his topless red car. And of course myself and co-host with the director of Destination X, all to the social rescue!! We met Richard Rollins and his master-mind co-pilot and saw the saddest sight… his beautiful olive-colored master piece had broken down!!

There was only one green tree for miles, and we managed to get everyone and the crying car under it. There where bathrooms, one pay phone (which was very useful, for there was no cell phone service for miles…) and a water hose. It was like camping in unbearably hot weather! There was story telling, bonding and shit talking. At this moment I realized that the Bullrun was more than a Rally, it was a sort of family… people with such an eccentric passion and an overall love for life. I don’t think I could continue living without going on the Bullrun again!! Everybody there forgot about coming in 1st, 2nd or 3rd and happily nibbled on the rations of food, mostly jerky… But it was here that Richard expressed his hate for blogs, we would be sure to mention him in ours.

Photo Taken by Isauro Mercadl the 3rd, most photos on this blog are by photographers from 944 Magazine, Skinnie Magazine, Isauro and myself :-P

WEDNESDAY MORNING BULLRUN MANIA

Posted in 1 with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on July 29, 2008 by Destination X Adventure TV

So we found that the wake-up, and take-off times were a little earlier than comfortable; from the late-night partying and funny-fun times we all had Tuesday evening. Hahah, all or nothing on the Bullrun right?? We gathered and met in front of the Wynn Hotel in the wee hours of the morrow on Wednesday… our take off was at 8:00am. Now we caused quite a ruckess that morning! All the cars were rolling up and taking over the Valet section (not to mention the entire hotel was dominated)… revving engines, hyped up people, a complete rush…

IMG_0280.jpg image by InfinitePerception IMG_0327.jpg image by InfinitePerception Photography_InfinitePhoto.jpg InfinitePhoto.Net image by InfinitePerception

Security didn’t like us very much, we had so many camera men, press and photographers it wasn’t funny. The noise was loud enough to be heard by the couple sleeping in a nearby hotel! There were multiple attempts to kick us out and get us moving, but we weren’t going anywhere without our Bullrun Checkpoint cards!! Eventually security realized that this was a battle they couldn’t win. Too many adrenaline-pumped, ready-to-roll, hard-core bodies that don’t mess around! The amount of money that was traveling in our group was far too much to try and argue with!!

This was my first look at the incredible collection of a mobile car-show… one unlike any other!! These beautiful vehicles were so supped up its hard for an every-day person to comprehend. Everything from light-changers, radar navigators, laser diffusers, and all of the other secrets which we arn’t meant to disclose. Oh yes, and of course the truckers hot-line, can’t forget about that!! I was totally astonished, and it took me a few hours to realize what this was really all about!! It was like a country girl going into the city for the first time. A complete rookie pretty much.

So at 8:00am sharp I noticed everyone was already in their cars. I was like, “Ok, looks like we’re leaving soon.” hum-de-dum, hahah but before I could blink the cars looked like they took off with a neighboring spaceship!! A little confused, I got in our Destination X media Jeep and tried to tag along like a little bunny rabbit. As if we could keep up….

TUESDAY, BULLRUN PARTY NIGHT IN VEGAS!!

Posted in 1 with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on July 29, 2008 by Destination X Adventure TV

<- Ashley Van Dyke & Celeste Fianna

Our team driven by Ashley Van Dyke met up with the Bullrunners in Las Vegas, whew!! Was that a fun night or what? I’m still catching up with my sleep from that one!! I flew out there and met up with the team… we had a Show-Car Corvette from The Industry TV Show driven by Josh and JB, our ZO6 Corvette driven by Ashley and her co-pilot Spencer, a matching ZO6 Corvette (team of Corvettes!) driven by Robert creator of Luxury Toy Club and his co-pilot Kariff, our media Jeep with Destination X TV decals on it, and a Limo which was transporting the cast from San Diego.

Now I heard that this Limo story was a funny one…. that it broke down that day twice in the desert!! I bet the crew was hot and heavy then :-D Eventually we had to get rid of it because we couldn’t afford to have a Bullrun vehicle breaking down every second. So we replaced it with an O-so-Slow transportation van, this helped us with all our luggage.

There was a 944 party event at Palms Hotel in ‘The Moon’ club… some bullrunners didn’t sleep that night… hahah, you know who you are!!! I hear there were quite a few celebrities as well. I know we had dinner at 4:30am, 24 hour city baby! So we had our first official starting day Wednesday morning (Day 5), we just got the ‘Day #4′ night life experience. And I’m happy we didn’t miss that one!

woohoo!!!

18 Year old driver from Reality TV, the youngest this year on the BullRun!!!

Posted in 1 with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on July 29, 2008 by Destination X Adventure TV

Co stars from the Reality TV show The Industry, show up for a show car drive from the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas as a Show Team for a “leg” to Spring Mountain Raceway on The BullRun

Josh, the star of the upcoming reality series The Industry says he wants a Bugatti (even though he’s 14!) and has a love for cars, so he has begun master-minding gettin his hands on one, could be why they hunted down The Bullrun, having such an interest in cars… maybe he wanted to do a little shopping around? See which ones can hold the stamina. They were invited by their friend Dallas over at Destination X TV who rounded up a VO6 Black Vette for the brief ride…

They start at the Wynn Hotel on the Vegas strip heading towards one of the baddest race tracks around, Spring Mountain. Since JB is the only one that can drive, is it likely that Josh will take the keys and race on over there himself?? Possibly be one of the first 14 year olds to get a speeding ticket in a Rally?

The Bullrun motor-sports event covers 3000 miles this year, Josh and JB drove from the Wynn Hotel in the wee hours of the morning through to Spring Mountain (about an hours drive). But this is after brushing up on their racing skills earlier on in the week at Spring Mountain, luckily the boys made it their alive and without law injuries… and actually made good time!! The youngest team on the Rally earned respect!!

VIEW PICTURE IN PARUMP VALLEY NEWSPAPER HERE FROM BULLRUN

Josh, the 14 year old star says he would join the BullRun but he does not have a license yet. I don’t know what he is worried about, after all, many BullRun drivers end up with speeding tickets that cost them their license, so Josh is already off to a good start…

But now that their hooked, its gonna be hard for them not to want to rally in the Bullrun every year. Will Josh and JB be the first to bring a Bugatti? Hopefully they wont total it!!

~PANDORA’S TEAM THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX ON BULLRUN~

Celeste Fianna blogging on our team pre-rally. In 2006 I heard that Destination X TV had 5 Lotus Show-Cars and really had a good Rally. But this year it seems like we may be stepping it up… Since this is my first time on The Bullrun, I really feel like a virgin to such an intense Rally of testosterone pumping cars and speed. But to me it really feels like we’ve got a fun bunch of machines that are all gonna be pretty helpful! An ‘08 ZO6 Corvette driven by Destination X Model, and Race Car Driver Ashley Van Dyke, two other Corvettes the same driven by Robert from Luxury Toy Club, and JB from The Industry TV Show, a limo driven by Kariff from Luxury Toy Club, and a Destination X TV Media Jeep driven by me! I am also curious to see what celebs we get showing up, I heard the past Bullruns have had people like Paris Hilton, Dennis Rodman and Carl Lewis show up.

Now we seem to have a well put together team; a crew of Navigators, Drivers and Press… I can’t wait to see how it turns out!!! Below is a blog that was posted about the master-mind behind our whole project, creator and producer of Destination X TV, Dallas Tanner,  and his dare-devil partner-in-crime and co-star to Desintation X TV season 1 and 2, Lauren Fray… this is from ‘06, we all thought it was very funny:::

“You Gotta Know When to Hold ‘Em, Know When to Fold ‘Em, Know When to Walk Away on the Bullrun”

“We thought this girl was very pretty. We also thought that her co-driver (not pictured) was a very large man who looked easily capable of turning us into some form of mulch. We don’t relish being mulch before our time. And as we all know, very large man + multiple long-ass days in a tiny Lotus Elise = very large unhappy man with adrenaline pumping. We made with the salutations, took a photograph, as it is purported to last longer, and went on our merry, non-mulched way.”
